    I think this could be an interesting image, but it is too dark and shadowed on my screen.
    Have you calibrated your screen? I have noticed that many of your captures are quite dark, suggesting, (to me), that your screen brightness may be an issue?

    A quick check might be to take a look at your images (a submitted to this forum), from someone elses' system and see if they are comparable in brightness to those on your system.

    Brian,

    I thing the composition is interesting, and I really like the texture contrast between the bee and the wood. I agree with James though. It's a bit dark on my screen as well. I think I'd play around with the exposure a bit, and then maybe adjust shadows.

    I did calibrate my screen with the calibration method found here. But my mood may need calibrating?

    The original was definitely under exposed.
