This is the rotunda and dome of the Texas Capitol Building in Austin. I don't have a fisheye, but I wanted the widest view I could get with my existing equipment. I chose an unusual pairing: Canon 5D (the original model) and a Tamron 11-18mm zoom designed for APS-C DSLRs. Of course, it vignettes terribly at 11mm, but beginning at about 13mm, you get a regular superwide view. This was shot at 14mm, stopped to f8, I think. There was no crowd, so I put the camera face up on the rotunda floor, which has a clear center point, and fired away. Because of the configuration of the upper floors, you will notice there is not perfect symmetry of the receding architectural features or lighting. The shot is slightly cropped to avoid the most prominent asymmetrical distractions. I converted to monochrome in Topaz BW Effects because I found the mixed lighting in color to be distracting.
