Some dirty pictures

We had some repairs to our driveway done yesterday. I wanted to oversee what was being done and to pass the time took my camera along. I thought it would be an interesting challenge to get some shots of a mundane event. I can't quite match the beauty of (Lake) Windermere and such like.

4. Stationary ripples - this is the bituminous stuff that was used. It is a horrible viscous stuff so thick that the ripples and surface shape did not move.

5. When mixed with water, it produced bubbles that caught the light and refracted it to make hundreds and thousands. I should have got a real close up picture.

I thought it would be an interesting challenge to get some shots of a mundane event.

You met that challenge very well!

I especially like the power of #4. My next favorite because of the dramatic height and angle is #3 and wonder if you have a shot of the dirt being dumped out of the truck.

Interesting shots - I assume you are going to get a huge discount with your photographic evidence of them standing around doing nothing.

A couple of construction workers leaning on their shovels. That seems to be something we see all over the world.

Actually seeing them using the shovels might be a more difficult shot to get....

I like #6 -- they remind me of The Black Tar Gang for some reason ["might get a beer, eh"] Have you tried it in black and white

The picture with the shovels is not really fair. They all did a pretty efficient job and the machines did the hard work as they should. It was just interesting to see the underling in the green shirt imitating his boss.

Mike, attached are two shots of the dirt being dumped out of the truck. There is some nice motion blur showing which I had not noticed before. Not the full height of the truck though.
