    No, of course I do not know for sure that it was caused by the cartridges. Neither do I know what exactly happened.

    Yes, it could have been a faulty mechanism on either or both of the printers.

    I have read this thread with interest and note that there seem to be 2 quite opposite points of view. I have been making digital prints since January 1999, and up until now have always used OEM Ink. My Canon 9000 MkII needs 8 Carts at about £11 each (cheapest available this week). I have changed 4 carts since last weekend, and am about to have to change another 2, which will leave me with 2 full Canon Carts still to use.

    So today, I have placed an order for refillable carts and Lyson ink. When I next have to start changing carts, it will be with the refillables, and I will soon be able to see which side of this discussion proves correct. I am still feeling just a little bit nervous about my leap into unknown waters.

    When it costs $2000 to fill my Epson 7800 the nervousness quickly turned to joy!
