    first shot at b/w

This is my first shot at b/w and i am not sure about it. I like the content of the photo, but it seems that it has picked up a lot of graininess in the b/w conversion. I used lightzone with a red filter with a strength of 5. Give me some advice.

upon further reflection, I noticed that my original is kind of grainy too. I bought a polarize filter that was pretty cheap and i am wondering if this has something to do with the graininess.

Tim, what were your settings for this shot? What camera and lens? I have never used lightzone but I have found that some colored filters may enhance graininess. I had a cheap polarizing filter that also caused this...I stuck it in the cabinet never to be used again
I do like the shot...it has a great potential and a really good feel to it.

    Hi Tim,

I'm definitely no expert at B&W at all but it will be worth posting your original colour version and as Jon said the settings. I can not see any graininess at this resolution.

I am not quite sure how to get you a full size original either color or b/w
