Re: My Tree finally changed!!
No. 1 would do it for me with a fairly major crop left and bottom. Our trees are still changing. By my reckoning, they are about 3-4 weeks late this year.

Beautiful colours and a wonderful idea for a coloured background. I prefer #1 because the chickadee is in nice sharp focus but the background is a little busy so a crop sounds like a good idea. But I love the blurred leaves and colours in the 2nd image.

Re: My Tree finally changed!!
In my book you cropped the wrong side of the bird and a horizontal flip would improve the composition with dark tones on the right and birdie looking that way. The branch also works as a containing item.
Maybe I should visit in the Fall and maybe get something as nice as these ... snowtime is not that wonderful.
A little bit of trickery might set it off nicely if you used a two or three pixel sized white paint dot in the eye to simulate a 'catch light' ... helps with both kinds of 'birds'

Hi Randy, Yes, I think the crops work better. I adore Photo Nuts version especially for all the sharp detail he brought out in your beautiful little chickadee.
