    Burlesque show (NSFW)

    Hey guys,

i was invited to shoot my first show last weekend and i wanted to share 2 of the photos i really enjoyed capturing and proud of.

C&C is much welcomed and appreciated as it was my first time shooting performers on a stage.

i should add that i did not have the luxury of moving in the theater, the place was packed as this group does only 1 performance per year.

i hope it's not too much for our board, if so mods feel free to delete my post.

Love these Jimmy. #1 is so surreal. Could probably find some issues technically but who cares. It works.

Nice work Jimmy - I prefer the second one to the first, both compositionally and technically. Looks like you were shooting under some fairly challanging conditions. How does the second one work in colour?

Thank you all for the feedback, much appreciated

    Victor, i wasn't using a flash no.

Manfred, it looked good to me in color as well. I wanted to give her a black and white version of it too

thats version is not straighten and still has the tapes on the ground though.

I think the B&W might work better, even if you go back as remove the lines in post in the colour one. Hard to say, they both work well, if in a different way. Burlesque, being something from the mid 1900's somehow looks historically in context in B&W.

I've thought about the first colour image a bit more and find that I wonder about the format and composition. The dancer's hands are right at the top of the image and things look at bit unbalanced to me. Same issue with all of the dark space on the right side of the image. I wonder about dropping her a bit lower in the frame (if you don't have any material, it should be easy to create) and eliminate the black mass on the right. Perhaps going to portrait format rather than landscape would work better?
