Hi all,
It's been a while, and I thought it would be nice to share what I've been getting up to recently. I was best man at a mates wedding a few weeks ago, and I took him for hot towel shave. Rather selfishly I suppose, I took him more for my benefit really, as I knew would make a great picture set (don't tell hime that though).
I hired the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM lens for the weekend so I could try it out. I was blown away by it. It's amazing. A while before that, I hired the EF 35mm f/1.2 USM prime (making ca. 50mm on my cropped sensor) which also blew me away. It's hard to pick between them, although I did see more chromatic aberration with the 35mm than I have done with other lenses I've tried out. Nothing bad enough to put me off, just an observation.
I also tried out a new style of B&W post processing where I start with a very very low contrast black and white (almost greyed out) image, and literally paint in the areas of light and dark. I think this works well, but I'm still learning. Naturally comments, tips & tricks and so on are encouraged.
Anyway, here are the pictures.
