Due to stolen camera . . . I am looking to upgrade my Nikon dslr . . . need advice
I am looking to upgrade my Nikon DSLR Camera, unfortunately my camera I had been using was stolen. I was using a NIkon D5000 and was happy with it (although it is the only dslr that I have owned so I have nothing to compare it to) so I thought if I was going to buy a new camera I might as well look at upgrading, I would like some advice on what you all like, I have been looking at the d5200, d5300 and d7000 but am open to other suggestions. Looking to spend no more than a 1000.00
Thanks for your help!!

Sorry Kathy, I'm in the 'other' camp, so am of no help in commenting on Nikons.
But, on the principle that any and all DSLRs today are more than capable of allowing you to produce excellent images, it does come down to:
a) Budget
b) Features you need and want
c) How it feels in your hands.
EDIT - I have just noticed that you have also asked, broadly, the same question in another thread and got responses. Perhaps that was why there was no response in this thread. I think you'll find it's less confusing for people if we keep one topic in one thread.

Hi Kathy,
I'd say, get a refurbished V1, and the 18.5/1.8, a superb combination!
Steve Huff has written a lot about the V1, which can be had (used/refurbished) for around 250 - add a few nice lenses (the 18.5 is superb, the 6.7-13 amazing and the 30-110 is without peer). At DpReview there is an entire discussion group covering the Nikon 1 system - you'll be amazed how good shots it can take!
