So, I thought I'd at least have texture down with this water-shaped grass...For the B&W conversion I darkened yellows and reds to -50%. I'm pleased by it...the texture is definitely enhanced in B&W. Makes the grass look nice and crunchy

I snapped this shot just thinking, "hey that grass looks cool". When I got home I was like, "hey, I see texture here maybe it'll work as B&W". And here I am...

C&C welcome! I never do B&W so this is maybe a learning experience.

    I'm pleased by it...
And so you should be. A beautiful conversion. Very rich tones. Well done.

I bought a print (B & W) from Mark Alexander (http://www.markalexanderphotography.co.uk/), whose specialism is golf courses. The one I bought was taken outside his house (not far from me) and the foreground is a field of barley blowing in the wind. I bought it directly from him and he spoke of having seen the barley likes waves.

You can do a lot with B+W; try filters and for a quick example your pic with green filter and green hue. Not as good as your PP but very quick.

The barley blowing in the wind totally reminded me of the movie Gladiator, with Russel Crowe. I don't know if you're familiar, but that movie had some beautiful moments of cinematography with barley, wheat, or something similar, blowing like waves in the wind. It's a beautiful thing to see in life as well.

@Arith: I will definitely have to check those out! Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks again for the comments, fellow CiC members!
