To the cognoscenti the difference is apparent (or is it apparel?). The general public argue about Sorels versus Kamiks versus the new Dunlop neoprene winter boot, but the truly fashion aware one can tell at a a glance the difference between high and low fashion. And it probably can't be explained to the uninitiated.

Absolutely. I would think the priority would be to help reduce the risk of frostbite.
