    A Walk in the Woods

Yesterdays walk in the woods was not as productive as I had wished, but here are a couple for your C&C.

    1. A Walk in the Woods

    2. A Walk in the Woods

    3.A Walk in the Woods

here is my 1st bird in flight, well, OK, this is my 2nd. My 1st was so terrible that I was too embarrassed to post. This one is not much better but at least you can tell what kind of bird it is

Re: A Walk in the Woods

Composition and brilliant reds are appealing in #1, and it is nice to look at. - but the blue of the sky competes with the cherries for intensity. If you pushed some contrast/saturation in this (overall), I wonder if this push could be more selectively applied to your subject with less effect in the bright blue sky. In LR that would be using saturation and luminance sliders directly or indirectly for the cherries, with contrast, saturation otherwise backed down a little for the image as a whole.

I love the result with the leaf, and wonder if cropping it away from dead center (in one direction or another) might leave you with more interesting composition.

Seems to have been a nice walk.

Mark, thanks for your comments. Regarding the blue sky, I did tweak the saturation slightly so the image would match the brilliant blue sky we had yesterday.

Regarding the leaf...well, sometimes I just don't think
    Here is a cropped version...

The leaf is beautifully aglow, and I like where you've put it!
