Edinburgh Zoo: Otter
While the chimps are entertaining I love the otters. I've spent hours trying to capture them, the shot below was a bit of luck - I was shooting around a bush at some otters playing in the distance when I heard some movement and this guy appeared in the bush next to me... Awkward lighting conditions - very dark - but I think I've managed a reasonable capture, just a shame about the leaf at the top.

Hi Stuart,
First off; welcome to the CiC forums from me.
You were lucky, whenever I see otters in zoos, they are, more often than not, in the pool and all I get is top down photos , usually where most of the animal is hidden underwater (who said "use a polariser"?)
When they are fed, shooting them eating sounds like a good idea, the resultant shots are usually quite 'gory'
You might be able to tone down the bright background patch a tad more, but on the whole, this has good exposure and we can see detail in his/her face.
