    Resize mode, sharpening

I don't understand, why this thread was deleted.
Bicubic mode makes images blured, bilinear too, nearest neighbor scaling produces very sharp images, but it seems that sometimes straight thin lines are getting thinner that they should be. And sometimes it splits letters in signboards. So what is the best method of resampling ?

One of the better methods is called Lanczos, please google it. Another method, better for blurred images is RT convolution found in RawTherapee.

I posted a comparison of PhotoShop Elements methods here:

Elements - the five down-sampling methods compared

If you read about simple UnSharp Masking you will understand why lines skinny up:

Use bicubic sharper for down-sampling, and bicubic smoother for upsampling ... followed by output sharpening.

Output sharpening of 0.3px @ around 50 to 100% for internet display often works well (assuming that the full resolution image has been correctly sharpened beforehand).
