Personally I wouldn't have captured the image. For me it doesn't show the birds off, feather wise or the shapes of the birds. I understand about trying to get close and the birds flying off, what I do is take a few steps at a time very slowly so they used to you being there and when you are near enough take the image. Doesn't always works Steve.

It's always nice to get a bit closer, but what makes this shot for me is the two ducks mirroring each others actions and the closeness doesn't matter so much. Looking at the depth of field, I suspect if you had focused in a bit closer you would have got both birds in focus. But I don't think it particularly spoils the overall impact of the shot.

Pretty cool! I like how they are like copying each other! The sunlight behind them is perfect! I think you hit it at the right time of day! We're they hard to capture?
