Some images I took yesterday of the Remembrance Day Ceremony at my work.

Re: Remembrance Day - Fremantle, Western Australia
Nice captures of an important occasion. Each year, thousands of our WW-II heroes pass away. I was at a Veteran's Day Ceremony in California, yesterday, and met a 95-year old veteran or the Second World War. However, it shocked me when it was mentioned that the Vietnam Conflict (my war) was over fifty years ago....
Here is a shot I grabbed of three Diaz family members who represent WW-II, Korea and Vietnam while they were posing for a family photo.

Are those ladies placing their poppies on a memorial plaque? There is a similar thing in Ottawa where the public puts their poppies on the tomb of the unknown soldier. Possibly the most touching part of the entire Remembrance Day ceremony as it something the public created to show honour to the war dead.

Yes - sort of, it's a tray full of sand for people to place the poppies. I believe the young ladies are all war widows or widows of ex - Service men.
Bit of a strange day for me, my Australian Grandfather fought in France in WW1 and my German Grandfather fought in WW1 (not sure where), in WW2 my father (German) fought in France, Holland and Russia and on the Australian side a number of relatives fought in New Guinea and then I served for 23 years in the Army and saw service in S.E. Asia and East Timor, so I always have mixed feelings

Not to nitpick Richard, but the Vietnam war ended 40 years ago, not 50. Otherwise you've accelerated my age 10 years!
