    Next years wine

Living amongst the vineyards of southern France I've been fascinated by the symmetry of all the rows, this scene I saw yesterday seemed to be a good example. Plus I thought that a post with the word wine in it would draw some comment ! Suddenly having all sorts of hassle uploading photos could this be the dreaded 'Mavericks' effect?
Appologies for the tiny thumbnail, anyone else having problems ? (Yeh, now I do have a specific question !)

    Re: Next years wine

I saw a couple threads yesterday where people who were used to uploading photos were unable to do so at the time.

Your use of the word, "wine," in the thread title certainly got my attention and always will. I'd be willing to bet that you'll eventually see Donald here as well as a participant from Spain whose screen name and real name embarrassingly escape me at the moment.

I like your photo so much that I would like to see it in a larger version. (I did click the thumbnail but the resulting image is still really small.) The hill in the vineyard really makes the photo seem three dimensional, proving that you selected an ideal vantage point. I also like the background of evergreens. My only suggestion is that the large tree on the left is a distraction that takes away the otherwise pleasant symmetry of the image without adding any helpful information.

Mat, I agree with Mike. Your image would seem to be a superb landscape, and I would like to see it a little bigger on my screen. Have you tried up-loading the file again?

Tiny pics gives me this message when I click on "upload photos from your computer"
Exception Authentication failed timestamp invalid -1384710919 7 xml GET 1384710920
I have no idea what this means or what to do about it

    Hi Mat,
I'm having the same trouble posting picture through Tiny Pics. Hopefully the team will sort it out soon.

I thought you might be one of the people attracted by the wine reference Mike !
So the wait for something to change re; Tiny Pics has given me the chance to re-edit the photo sans arbre a gauche as I hope we say over here and I think it has improved the symmetry some, which I must admit is annoying as I toyed with the idea of cropping it out at the time but thought it was interesting or something so I left it there, why oh why did I listen to my self?
Also the waiting has given me time to indulge in a little glass of the magic red water which is very nice.
Thanks for the comments and cheers to you all (hic)

I saw that Donald had posted a reply giving advice by using the 'insert image' icon that I had never noticed before and crying/pasting the image address
Is the resulting image full size or merely better than before ? Phew i need drink !

Great image - hope the wine is as good!
The way you have framed your image is great. How did you do it?

    Re: Next years wine

Yes, Andy a lovely wine thanks but sadly finished now. Thank you for your comment. I am using photoshop so if you aren't this will be useless information, sorry
After cropping your shot click the canvas size option in the image section, There you can choose a size and colour I chose 5% and white but i often use a mid grey as it frames nicely I think, anyway play and find something you like, next step in the fx panel choose drop shadow, again you can choose to alter the size, darkness and direction of the shadow I used ,45% op,54deg,25dist,36spread,188size. then after that I added a "stroke" (line) around the outer edge of the picture but inside the frame. This again can be found in the fx menu and yes you can set it at any size and colour I used 3 px and black.
Hope that makes sense and helps a little, It's not as horribly complicated as it sounds and once you get the hang of all the sliders it can be done quickly, or even better set up an action for it and it's done with one touch, but thats another series of instuctions and I've got wine to open. . .

    Hi Mat,
Yes I can follow what you have said. It's still a little new to me, nonetheless I will give this a go.
    Thanks

    Re: Next years wine

That's a bit bigger, Mat, but still doesn't fill the screen. I suggest you resize your images for posting here to a minimum of 960 px across. The wide frame is not very useful for images posted here. Nice landscape, nevertheless.
