Floriade 2013

Hi everyone,

I have been away for about 12 months re-setting my ideas.

There is a horticultural festival in our Canberra our national capital. It is called Floriade. These are some of the tourist images i made this year.

All shot with 50mm f1.4 lens. The two close ups 2 and 3 were shot at f 1.4 and 1/4000th (directly into the sun) all of the rest are f8 at 1/125 or 1/250 depending on the light. All are camera jpegs processed with camera raw and PS6.

I don't know why they are different sizes, I am out of practice at posting I am sorry.

Unfortunately your images are not showing up. Not sure if it's something you've done, or whether you're experiencing the problems that a lot of folks have had who use TinyPics to upload. There has been a problem at their end that, unfortunately, we can do nothing about.

I am well, but I have been studying and I needed to opt out for a while.

Yes I have been having problems with Tinypics but I managed to upload to an album and come at it another way.

Some lovely captures Graham, beautiful colours.

We visited Floriade in 2012 for the first time and found it well worth the visit. It's difficult to do justice to large floral displays like this with a camera but you've managed it well.

I was intending to do a bit of street photography and gather flower photos for later use in composites, but it was a bit crowded for street and I really liked the saturated colours and wanted to capture that.

I think that this was the first outing for my camera after receiving it back from being checked over by the manufacturer and I didn't set up the card right and only captured jpegs. I usually capture RAW and jpeg.

Still I am happy with the images and the colours.
