Pencil Photos

Hi,

It has been a bit since I have been on and I have obviously missed some very fine photography work, I intend to work my way through and catch up.

Myself, I have been trying out different macro ideas, as always. I have been working with pencils of late, here are a couple of examples of what I have been doing. Any and all C&C most welcome.

I like all of them. Unique idea, sharp images and great composition. Well executed.

These are all very nice photos, so much so that most of the suggestions we could make are only a matter of preference regarding taste.

Accordingly, I have only two issues for you to consider. In the second photo, I would like more separation between the black pencil and the background. In the last photo, I would like the lighting to display the shape of the two horizontal pencils as nicely as it displays the shape of the vertical pencil.

By the way, nice balancing act of the vertical pencil in the last one.

I always think colour images work best when they are about colour. Good examples of that.

Some superbly sharpened pencils, superbly captured.

As Mark has mentioned it would be good to see more of this type of project, the concentration is very much on bugs and flowers with macro so perhaps time for some of us to get the thinking caps on

Yes, I actually have been meaning to re shoot this one and change the position of the black and white pencils.
