So this is what Canon has been up to

I have been a Canon user since 1970. Recently I have been wondering what new technology Canon has been working on because they have been quiet for some time. With the release of their new white camera, now I know. It will go good with my old pink leisure suit. Way to go Canon. http://www.canonrumors.com/2013/11/c...hite-pictures/

1970! Me too. I still have my gray-market FTb. And I currently own two Canon bodies.

I see no reason to be bothered by this. They have to make money for their shareholders, and if some people want white cameras, it's fine with me if Canon makes them. All I care about is that they also make the equipment I want. I recently bought a new Canon body, and I can only prattle on about the huge improvements they have made in the 5 years since I bought my previous one.

So I say: Canon, if consumers want puce DSLRs, go ahead and make them.

Neat idea.... However, I think that a KISS in Royal Stewart Tartan would be classier! Or Stewart Hunting Tartan for a less conspicuous camera

Useful in the outback, but Pentax got there first with the "Storm-trooper" K-X

I remember when almost all 35mm film cameras had a metallic or brushed aluminum style finish. Photojournalists in Vietnam would paint their cameras black in the expectation that a sniper might not key in on a black camera as readily as on a bright metal one.

This probably worked but, the painted cameras looked terrible and the paint often rubbed off the finish. This reduced the resale value of a camera but, after a year or so in the boonies, many cameras were ready for the scrap heap anyway.

I think it was Nikon that came out with the first black SLR cameras soon followed by other companies (or the other way around), Suddenly a black camera became a selling point. Everyone wanted to look like a "professional". I guess that the trend is turning around.

My wife selected her Canon P&S camera because she like the fuchsia color...
