Mark I started out with LR3 and now have LR5. I also have the Nik Complete Plugins and with those and LR5 I have all I want. The move from LR3 to LR5 is worth it in MHO, more and improved tools to work with.

Absolutely. The main advantage is the change in processing engine introduced with version 4. It has much better tonality controls than version 3. There are other nice goodies too, but this one is the biggest, IMHO.

Going from LR3 to LR5 is a total no-brainer...do it now!
But...ya might want to consider this as an alternative, http://www.adobe.com/

Another thumbs up. In addition to the new process engine the biggest plus for me is the new (to you) Adjustment Brush - which allows you to make changes to the exposure, highlights, shadows, etc etc in just part of the image, instead of globally.
