Interesting, yes. Nicely composed too. Also ominous looking. I think this is what is called an "arcus" cloud, and I'm guessing it was the leading edge of some significant weather (?)
Mark, thank you for your comments and observation of the type of clouds seen here. This was taken in the Big Bend area of Texas on the 20th of November, and 2 days later on the 22nd Winter storm Boreas blew through. So, yes, it was the leading edge of some significant weather. Keen observation.

Nandakumar, thank you for your comment. It's appreciated.

Nicely spotted Sergio. I think that the composition works when it makes me wonder what is around the bend, and on this shot I do![]()
Shane, thank you for your comment. I'm glad the image elicits that kind of response in you. Being there it really was an amazing sight to behold. I know what's around the bend, but I won't reveal it and just let your imagination ponder all the possibilities.

If you cropped out 385 you would have what the photograph is about .... what is around the bend is an irrelevant distraction.
Sergio,
I like it as well, great shot. Have you tried pulling more detail out of the sky above the cloud bank?
jcuknz, I tried cropping out 385 as suggested. Even though I see what you mean it loses for me the whole point of why I was attracted to the scene; the cloud bank running parallel to 385. The bend in the road was a plus adding interest and a leading line. Thank you for your valuable input and critique. This helps me see things from a different perspective.
