Asus ProArt PA249Q 24″ AH-IPS LCD Monitor
I’m thinking about replacing a monitor and have been eyeing this one.
Anyone have any experience or knowledge on this monitor?
I was painfully prepared to shell out for an Ezio CX240-BK-CNX 24” (
) but the Asus is looking pretty good so far for about 1/3rd the cost.

The reviews are very good but say it not factory calibrated and needs the user to calibrate it. It can give 10 bit RGB colour with 99% Adobe RGB or 100% SRGB but you need to have a graphics card that can provide and is set for a 10bit output.
Certainly sounds like a very good option. Go for it (but if it doesn't workout don't blame me).
All my laptops have been ASUS and I have had a good run with them.

Hmm…
Everything I’m seeing L.Paul is quite the opposite! One of the big bragging points is the supposed accuracy of the factory calibration.
I might add that I have no qualms about calibrating/profiling my system when needed.
Wifey-Poo has an Asus desktop and though I’m not a big Windows fan I’ve always heard good stuff about Asus.

I'm presuming you're considering the latest one - ie: the one with four USB 3.0 ports.
If not, I've had it's predecessor for 2 years now and I believe it to be an unqualified success, so much so I'm just about to purchase the more up to date version myself and run them both off my system.
According to the bumph "Experience professional-grade colour fidelity and reproduction with the Asus PA248Q ProArt series LCD display. The PA248Q guarantees colour accuracy, having been pre-calibrated to minimise the colour different to ΔE < 5 right out of box. The PA248Q delivers 100% sRGB colour reproduction on its 16:10, 1920 x 1200 optimal HD A+ IPS panel with 178° ultra-wide viewing angle."
All I can say is in the time I've owned it I've check calibrated it 4 times and seen no wandering or any need to make real change.

Thanks for that Steve. You are correct. I'm looking at the successor. Looking pretty good so far and I've seen lots of good stuff about your model as we'll.
