This building was imported to Adelaide, South Australia from Bremen, Germany in 1875. It's thought to be the only one of its kind in the world.

Built in England 1844 - 1848 (and still there)

I must go soon, only about 10 miles away.

In fact I was inside another building with indoor palm trees today:

Nikon D5000 with 18-200 at 18mm; 1/125s @ f8, iso2000.
I was stood with my back to a similar set of trees at the opposite end of the hall.

This is the Palm Court in Alexandra Palace, North London.

Yes, it's a greenhouse and it was imported in pieces and assembled here. It's in the Botanic Gardens, which is near the city centre of Adelaide. I was using a Canon 400D with a 50mm lens (so I had to back up a bit to get it all in).

Oh absolutely, it is a nice building (well captured), in fact I think I prefer it architecturally to Kew because it looks less like a giant greenhouse.

I particularly like the blue stained glass panels.

It is also a managable/maintainable size, Ally Pally is so huge most of it is going to ruin or at best being patched and covered over. Some parts are returned to their full former glory, but it's just so big they can't keep up with mother nature or the general public.
