First thing I noticed was that it was taken from 'a comfortable working height' .... you were standing with the camra to your eye. I fall into the trap myself and have two objects of equal importance in a photo when I am not thinking properly or have a strong reason for it.
Getting down on your knees with a longer lens might solve that problem but might loose the reflections of the trees. But from your title I assume the bobbers were what interested you here.
Hopefully done 'in-camera' or with your camera file in editing the result would be better than my edit off the small file here. which show the difference in size to get away from the 'two off'.

Hi jcuknz, yeah, I took this shot from quite a distance and how to crop the original to come up with this image. I kept and developed this image because I liked the arrangement of the bobbers. I like what you did with the image. I'll keep in mind when I next attempt this shot.
