m4/3 image - what do you think?
Hi,
I just got a Panasonic G5 (manufacturer refurb, so should be in good nick), and went out today to try a few shots. This is typical of a fine Jpeg sooc. I have the kit zoom, which I know is not the greatest glass, but I still feel a bit disappointed. The image just doesn't look crisp, though the light seemed very clear in the late afternoon.
You can probably read the Exif, but if not it's at 42mm (84mm equiv), ISO 160 (base ISO for this camera), f/8, 1/250, handheld. Focus is on the hill in the middle. No pp except a bit of cropping, but there is still a good 10mp left. Should have been pretty much ideal settings.
I know I can improve it in pp (I also have the RAW file), but if anyone out there has similar kit, I would welcome any feedback as to whether this is the kind of IQ I can expect.
Thanks,
Dave

Re: m4/3 image - edited version
Just for comparison, here is the RAW file after some pp in Lightroom. I have been much more aggressive with the editing than I would be with an image from my 600D, especially with Clarity, Vibrance and Sharpening.
