Vinyl Background
I haven't seen a vinyl background although I am familiar with canvas and with muslin backgrounds.

I really need a background like this one for several shots that I am thinking of doing (with my rescue dogs of course).
The background comes folded and I am a little concerned that I won't be able to get the creases out, despite the claim on the eBay auction that the creases can easily be removed...

Re: Vinyl Background
Richard, we have a street market nearby where one can buy this type of vinyl 2 metres wide by whatever length needed. If I remember correctly it costs around £5.95 per metre. It is used mainly for table cloths and I remember seeing the night sky pattern that you saw on e-bay. Here's a shot of the market. If you shop around, you may find something similar where you are. The stuff is made in China.

Re: Vinyl Background
Graham, thanks for the reply and the neat image. I'd love to visit that market for photo opportunities...
That is how I would prefer to purchase the material so I could be sure of not having creases.
I am going to try digitally inserting backgrounds. Although I have not worked with this plug-in yet, Perfect Mask, part of OnOne Perfect Photo Suite seems very easy to use. I have purchased a CD of 1,500 digital backgrounds (~7.00 USD from eBay) which will be, if I can perfect the technique, just what I need for my dog pictures.
