Love them good job.
Mark, there are a lot of image to view and absorb ib this thread and they are all beautiful. Antelope Canyon in and around Page Arizona if I am not mistaken (this place is on my bucket list)?
I will likely come back to view the images again but I will say that the image of the person in the circular arch (#5) stopped me in my tracks and is just stunning. The three buttes in black and white is also gorgeous.
What a fabulous trip and some great images to remember it by!
Wow first the birds and now landscapes.
Now for another question - how are you able to extract this amount of detail out of your files. Not only that but also the light and shadows? Thanks.
Mark, this and the other threads, all spectacular.
Sergio
Do you mind sharing exif data ? There maybe some way to view it from the posted photos but I don't know how to do it. Thank you. Kevin
Great images Mark - really nicely done!
Very impressive. Many of these very special. Love the cycle/dog - Thanks for having the Exif with these - I can learn.
Breathtaking is all I can say!
Brilliant shots. I particularly like the first one of the Bristlecone pine(?) at sunrise
These and the other threads that have followed them today show nothing less than would have been expected as soon as I saw your name and the fact that you were posting again (which is wonderful).
Most folk would probably get one or two that you could put up as quality images. But you realise that you're in the company of a person who has mastered their craft when you get this level of consistent quality.
Hi Kevin,
The easiest way is to first visit this site; http://regex.info/exif.cgi
If you are using FireFox: (and there are a number of good reasons to), just drag the green "Exif" button (from within the pink box top right of the page) on to your Links tool bar and drop it there.
Then open a chosen image in CiC Lytebox
Then click the "Exif" button on your tool bar
A new tab will open displaying the EXIF data (sometimes in staggering detail) - IF it was embedded in the file that is (and Mark's above are)
If you use Internet Explorer, that doesn't work, but you can open a new tab, go to this http://regex.info/exif.cgi page, then paste in an image url into the "Image URL" box top left and click the adjacent button.
Or do yourself a favour and (especially for images), install Firefox and do the first option above.
You can also get a few useful Add-ons that allow inspection of histograms and other stuff from a right click menu - including an alternate (far less detailed, but easier to understand, EXIF data viewer).
Cheers,

Hi Mark,
I echo Donald's reply.
Great timing/positioning on many.
I was struck by (in numerical order only) #2, #5, #9, #15, #17, but there'll all very good.
Thanks for sharing - now I need to find "the other threads"
What a great set of images and some really thoughtful photography. I envy you the trip as well.
6, 14, and 15 are amazing. My very favourite is 14. You are a killer photographer!
Some great shots amongst this lot
This is a golden thread indeed..... Most of them are outstanding....probably, all
Thanks for the positive comments. Thanks for posting how to get the exif data.
I don't think a lot of these are my best work. The weather at Bryce Canyon was poor for photography and like all landscape shots, it would have been useful to have enough time to check the area first. We spent a few days in each place and being mid summer, we had plenty of late nights and early mornings and very little sleep.
Areas we visited
Bryce Canyon
Moab - Dead Horse Point, Canyonlands (Mesa Arch), Arches National Park
Scenic byway 12 - Kodachrome Park, Grand Escalante, Boulder, Capitol Reef etc.
Monument Valley (very over rated and you are in a captive tourist market and ..... no beer at the hotel!!)
Antelope Canyon (hopeless for photogrpahy due to huge numers of people, limited time and space - Rather do Canyon X I'm told)
Las Vegas (I never want to go back - my second time there)
Paso Robles
Big Sur (never saw a thing - fog all the way - bummer), Carmel and Monterey Peninsula (bad weather but at least 100 Lamborghinis)
San Francisco
Highlights of the trip. Long haul across I 50 (THE LONLIEST ROAD), Scenic byway 12 ( an absolute must - just Google it), Arches, Mesa Arch, spending a night doing star trails with my brother and humming birds.
Someone wanted to know my settings on the 1DX
Firstly let me say that I have never bought a camera and had so much difficulty with nailing focus. Finally Canon had a worldwide recall and supposedly just lubricated the shutter mechanism, but I'm sure they must have done something else to it because it is perfect now. I always shoot AI Servo and use back button focussing. I choose the Focus mode depending on the situation but mostly number 1 (all round general purpose). I often shoot manual.
My favourite lens of the trip - 300mm f2.8 II. Very light - can hand hold for birds. Killer combo with the 1.4 and 2.0 III converter. Gives a 600mm f4.0 which is probaly better then the 600mm f4.0 MkI (I have one and it weighs a ton).
Worst thing - having to clean my sensor afterwards.
