Hi Greg..thank you, i setup nikon d5100 on tripod, ISO 200, Played between F8 and F 11... flash sync speed ie 1/200s. Off camera flash pointing at background (which was reflecting in water) Flash set to Manual at 1/16, also played around with this.) Just used oven tray full of water. Put something in spot where water drops to focus..go to manual..and shoot...ALOOOOOOOT!!

Great series, Claudio, and thanks for explaining your setup. How did you manage the color?

Hi Sergio... thank you... its all about the background.. i used alot of my wifes materials.. the purple one is shiny gift wrapping paper, the orange one.. i think is callled a serong????? that thing the girls put on over the bikini like silky stuff? its just anything bright basically.. what happens is the off camera flash is pointed at it..so .. if u make sure the reflection is in spot where you focus..then when flash goes off..it brightens up background which intern, shows up in the water.

    Claudio,

These are great shots. Love the reflected color and thank you for posting your setup. I want to try this too.

Thank you very much David, Ali and Bobo. If i could, i'd tell everyone to really give this a try..its ALOT of fun.. especially trying to press remote at right time and then looking on camera to see what resulted.. i want to try putting some reflective material in the water and try have a flash on that as well... maybe even try bubles somehow....,hmmmm

It took me 10 min to set this up. You should all set up , Click away..and POST!!!!

Wonderful images. Thanks for posting how you did this as it fits right in with some of the things I plan to try as winter evenings become longer. Guess I'm going to have to start to understand the proper use of a flash.
