In a restaurant
Hey all,
I went out shooting yesterday afternoon in Brooklyn and stopped in at a restaurant where my friend is executive chef. The restaurant, Colonie, has an open kitchen which is absolutely spotless. Which is of course the mark of a true professional.

Re: In a restaurant
Jason, as a chef and photographer I can really relate to these photos. Especially like the movement of the chef in #1. # 3 doesn't really capture how wonderful this food is..the top 1/4 should be cropped. I know how difficult food photos are..I am working to get better at them myself. Good stuff. thanks for posting.

Re: In a restaurant
Thanks Travis. The energy in a kitchen is something that has always drawn me to it. I saw a photo of Grant Achatz in the Alinea cookbook that I thought was cool and so I wanted to give it a try. Although that shot uses a flash to freeze the motion on Grant while the rest of the kitchen is blurred. I didn't have my flash or a tripod with me so that was the best I could manage.
