I took the photo shown below today partly to test my camera and partly to show the reception room of Strauss Photo Technical Service located in a Maryland suburb of Washington, D.C. If you sent a camera (or any item) to Strauss to have it repaired or if you released your camera to anyone who then outsourced the repair to Strauss, your camera could be in this stack of boxes. Not very reassuring, huh.

The photo is related to my story explained here about how Strauss kept my camera for nearly two months and did absolutely nothing to repair it.

Though they do send some items away for repair, such as when they sent my camera to Nikon months ago, I was told that almost all of those boxes had been sent to them or were containing items that had never been sorted out from their facility relocation. That relocation took place a year ago if I remember correctly.

My experience is that when you have dis-organised chaos in one part of a small business then invariably that same level of dis-functionality will have permeated through the rest of the business as well.

Frankly Mike, I think you're lucky to have done as well as you have with them; I'd definitely have cut my losses and run too.

Scary scenario, technician wouldn't know if the damage was from the original request or through careless handling during shipment.

Mike, I just read the entire scenario...you exhibited much more patience than what I would have. In my old neighborhood, the Vito Corleone method would have been used to get their attention.
I would not let it rest...seeking a lawyer's advice, at this point, might be a viable option.

Getting a lawyer involved would only cost me money and would likely yield nothing that would help me or those this company has affected or will affect.

You're probably right but, around here, consultations are a no-charge thing.
Dropping it just isn't in my mindset.
