Hi Richard,
Looks like you have a nice sharp lens there! Love the texture on the petals and the DOF in the photo.![]()
I agree with ricko, but I think the orchid would look even better with more light directly on the front. Now there's more light comming from the left and the bright out-of-focus leaf on the left draws some of the attention.
and, by the way, congratulations with your new lensI think you'll have some fun with that one.
Thank you for the comments. Have not had a fast prime before and so far it seems a very nice lens and I think I will get some good use out of it. As well as macro, should double as a good portrait lens too.
I will have another look in PS following your comments and see what I can do. Looking again I agree the flower to the left and some of the stalks are a little distracting!
Thanks again,
Rich![]()
Hi Rich,
That is a good capture, although I agree with the comments above on cloning and the bright patch, etc.
And I'm really thinking I need a lens like that
I'm not that familiar with these blooms; but to my eyes it looks just a tad over-sharpened, possibly due to needing a slightly higher threshold, there seems to be a lot of frosty detail. However, as I said, I'm not familiar with them, so maybe they are really like that - I could be wrong.
I hope that helps, of course it won't if I'm wrong![]()
Hi Rich,
Nice shot.I really like the 100 macro. You're going to love it on a tripod.
