Logo For Facebook Images
I had avoided social networking sites like the purple plague. However, in today's marketing, they can be instrumental. I still don't like working with the Facebook type sites but, my wife has been doing a nice job in spreading the news of our rescue work using Facebook.

Please visit our Facebook site and comment. Most, but not all, of the photos are mine. There are some that have been shot by our volunteers using their cell phones or P&S cameras.
We need to develop a logo that has Maltese Rescue California on it. My image of Patsy and her puppy has just about gone viral on Facebook with a couple of thousand hits. Other rescue organizations have asked if they can use it.
Our present logo (which all of us like) doesn't have the name of our organization on it...
We need to identify our images with the name of our organization. I was wondering how this would look in a very small size at a bottom corner of the image.
I thought about using a transparent background but, it would depend on the image background whether you could read the logo. In this form, it should be easily read.

Re: Logo For Facebook Images
I'm not an expert on watermarks Richard but I can understand your concern about having your organization name displayed on the images that get passed around in any capacity. If I am not mistaken the fact that images are shared is not a problem, you would just like people to be able to recognize the source and be able to find your organization if they want to get involved.
I am not a big fan of the logo that you last presented as I think it will distract from your images. I wonder if you could maybe do something that incorporated the heart and just the words Maltese Rescue California (or the website) across the bottom of each image as a transparency. Something like this (I quickly threw this together just to give you an idea):

Re: Logo For Facebook Images
Shane,
I love this; thanks... It would identify our dog images, yet not be intrusive. The "M" done out of a heart is great! I will pass this around to the other members but, I am sure that everyone will agree that it is the way we want to go.
BTW: The reason that I want to have a logo on my/our images is not because I am worried about them being stolen. I just want people to see our organization's name when they view an image.

It was a fun one to think about Richard and I am glad you like it. Good luck getting everyone to agree on one logo though - I'm sure that there will be a lot of opinions
