Hello Greg, thank you for viewing and commenting. You have such magnificent and interesting wildlife in Australia. Although recently I watched and documentary on television how dangerous Kangaroos can be.

We had a family of those things try to take up residence in our backyard...they were vicious little creatures around the kids...finally had to drive them away with a shotgun.

Hello Mark, thank you for viewing and commenting. Yes, the do have rabies. I was cautious seeing them out in the day, but these were young and enjoying romping together, actually there were three of them but the third was out of focus.

Hello Matt, thank you for viewing and commenting. I was surprised how well the image was captured. The raccoons were in deep shade, the camera had reached the ISO of 3200 that I set as maximum so it lowered the shutter speed to 1/250. A good test of image stabilization.

The conditions and settings you describe do sound challenging. What is more impressive than the IS is the fact that the image looks so good at ISO 3200.

Hello Matt, the number of ISO is only an indication of how sensitive the sensor has to be set to record the scene. Like the volume control on a radio. As long as the image is not underexposed and the dynamic range of the sensor has not been reached a good image should be captured.
