    Moe and Curly....

Yesterday Dottie and I were at the nearby nature reserve and saw what we thought were squirrels ahead of us on the trail. A closer look through the lens revealed that it was three raccoons. As we approached they moved off the side of the trail and down the embankment. Arriving at the spot I captured them peering up at us. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Nice shots of some rather cute looking major pests.

They are great at overturning and emptying garbage containers, destroying bird feeders in order to get at the bird seed, etc. Up this way, we don't find them cute at all and would love to rid the neighbourhood of them.

Nice shot. They are on looks quite cute. In reality real pests. Manfred only touched the tip of what mischief these guys can get up to.

Great shot! There is a reason mother nature gave them the bandito masks!

Great shot Joe. Those cute expressions belie a sometimes vicious nature, though. My neighbor had a cat that was gutted by one, and they've been known to drown dogs by dragging them into water and holding their heads under by the nose till they suffocate.

Great capture Joe. Going by the comments above though, I'm glad we don't have them in the UK.

Excellent capture, Joe. I was going to comment on how cute they look too, but I see from the comments that they are just like some of the wildlife here: deceptive, cunning, nuisances, pests etc.

Great capture, Joe. You seized the moment. They are great characters, and a lot of trouble per above comments to which I would add: a significant rabies reservoir.

Wonderful shot Joe. Clear / sharp / well processed. They are darling little critters, despite the bad reputation (which they probably deserve, but they only do what is natural to them)

Hello Manfred, thank you for viewing and commenting. These critters are pest here also tipping over the garbage containers at the nature reserve. Just the nature of the beast I guess.

Hello James, thank you for viewing and commenting. I just love their masked faces. The more I photograph nature the more I become enthralled with all it offers.

Hello Kevin, thank you for viewing and commenting. I have read how vicious these critters can be. I once got between a Woodchuck and it's hole, it scared the heck out of me... snarling and hissing baring it's teeth.
