Very difficult lighting conditions so 10 RAW PP images tone mapped. 18mm FL wasn't quite wide enough so some straightening of verticals etc. Tried it in Mono and quite liked that as well. C&C as always, welcome.

Nice attempt at trying to capture everything. A few isolated close-ups would work well as a series.

Like both of them, but leaning towards the B&W version. One question when I enlarge and look at the ceiling at that dark area, is it some kind of reflection from the lite domed area at the front of the church.

Good shot. I prefer the colour just because the altar stands out more as the centre piece of the photo.

Fortunately, when both expressions of the scene have such strong merit, there is no need to choose one over the other. Congratulations on two superb images!

Consider cropping either immediately below the foreground table or its platform. For me, the current composition leads the eye to that table and tends to stop there, when I think you want the eye to be led all the way to the rear. Just my response to your very nice image.

John, I would have loved more time I there but you know what family holidays are like.........

Allan, not sure where you are pointing me to. There is some sort of reflection above and to the right of the window on the LHS and there is a processing fault (unsaturated patch) top left in the dome which I will certainly correct....?

Mike, your suggested crop works and does give more immediacy to the main alter. A fresh pair of eyes etc. I will make the change if this ever finds its way into a comp or two.

Thanks Murat. I used the default setting in CS6 but backed off the red in the side curtain (came out almost black) and pulled back the highlights in and around the alter.

Thanks Joe. I prefer to use HDR as a tool to compensate rather than for the more extreme forms of processing
