    Christmas Gingerbread Display (Details)

Some detail from my Gingerbread shoot...

The lighting was challenging and I am still working on my NIK workflow so any and all suggestions in that regard would be more than welcome (both the train and carousel shots were a challenge at I had to raise the ISO to freeze the action and despite my tripod they were a challenge to process).

These are even better than your photos in the other thread that include more content. That's understandable because it was very wise of you to limit your lighting issues by narrowing the field of view. There are several in this thread that make it impossible for me to select a favorite.

Thanks Mike. I need a little distance from these Gingerbread shots as after almost a full day of processing I am starting to over do some things and overlook others.

The lights on the Santa shot are driving me nuts right now but I will wait for a day or so and see of others have comments before I tweak any of the images.

They look fine to me. This isn't the sort of image that we expect to see a neutral color balance. Just the opposite, the abnormal balance adds to the ambiance. At least that's my take.

Thanks everyone - this was my first festive outing of the season and I will be on the lookout for more scenes to share in the coming week or two.

    Happy Holidays to all

This might just be a personal thing for me - I think all the images are pretty cool, but I felt like I wanted the angle of the image to be just a little bit lower. I almost felt myself lowering my head wanting a slightly different perspective.

You have a good point Tim and that would have been great but I was trying to isolate a lot of these shots and the scenes had multiple levels, lots of clutter and to top it all off there was a fence around the whole display that made getting lower a bit of a challenge in some cases.

Thanks for taking the time to comment and I will keep your suggestion in mind if I get to do something like this again.
