Nice street subject.
Thanks John.
Ha! Well spotted, Jack!
The image seems to be a little overcooked to me. There are halos around the turtle's legs, for example, and elsewhere
Hey Greg, thanks. As soon as you pointed it out, I saw it. It wasn't the sharpest image and so I over-sharpened I suspect (plus I was trying for a grainy, gritty look. I may have over-succeeded) . I'll play around with the original and see if I can fix it.
Thanks for the input.
Jack I think that is a rare sighting. I see you were on your toesGreat capture, monochrome does it justice.
Thanks Mark. It was a shoot-from-the-hip kind of thing. Camera was at chest level, I saw the Ninja Turtle and took the shot. I was on manual focus, focus pre-set at 20ft. In the next day or two I'm buying a 50mm prime lens so hopefully my street shots will improve.
If you used the Unsharp Mask, it looks like the pixel radius was set a little high. I'd try a crop from just left of the Muscle Maker sign to your subject. At the moment, my eye goes to the high-contrast area between the sky and trees.
I think the other people add to the natural (unstaged look)![]()
Lex,
Thanks for the input. I've re-worked the image and will re-post. I actually considered that very same crop but in trying it, it seemed to lack...umph. With the woman coming head on in the image I thought it created a bit more 'tension'. I'm still undecided about that high contrast sky.
I like the original better. If there are haloes, I can't see them, even after it's been pointed out. Nice shot.
