    Pinhole Photography

I've seen pinhole lenses for sale on eBay, even in Sigma SA mount, but never been tempted. However, this lady seems to do pretty well!

Used to think that pinhole output is low contrast and blurry, but not now!

    Cheers,

Well, no technical info concerning the pinhole photos, so those could very well be taken with a 4"x5" camera.
The english translation omits the word 'essentiellement' which means approximately "mainly", so if you only read the translation, you could be made to believe that she uses the F3 exclusively.

And: posted on the web => scanned => photoshop possible.

Not saying she did a lot of post-processing, but as there's no information on her site about the technical aspects...
(and for me, the pinhole shots are low-contrast and blurry, even at the tiny size they are shown)

Well, if your aim was to show that pinhole images don't have to be low contrast and blurry, this was perhaps not the best site to pick.
Quite possible you got misled by the English translation (the lady being in Belgium, I suppose French is her first language).

The shot of the boy holding the horse's head and both are looking up is a great capture and I am sure the children were not pinhole shots

pinhole pictures can be marvelous. They may exhibit a soft sharpness and a special characteristic which you don't get otherwise. I haven't tried them yet with my DSLR, one reason is that you cannot enlarge them that much, so it may be good to have a larger image capturing device. Also, generally spoken, wide angles are sharper with pinholes (in the center, within limits, but still...), and DSLRs have obvious restrictions with regard to the distance between pinhole and image capturing device.

Very nice, Lukas. Hopefully your efforts will pass critical examination here. I myself am easily pleased

    Re: Pinhole Photography

There is only one folder of pinhole images in Claire Latouche's portfolio and that is this one:
    http://www.clairelatouche.be/galerie6/galerie6.htm

The images are consistent with my experience of pinhole work and are, IMO, very well done. I would guess that she is using a precision made pinhole attachment, not a home-made pin-prick in a piece of brass scrim glued to a body cap! Claire uses the extreme depth of field obtainable with a pinhole to great effect. Thank's for the link, Ted.
