sci-fi island
I was down down by the seaside to shoots some sunsets and just as I was ready to pick up and leave I decided to point my camera at the island far off in the east and do a long exposure work as the final rays of light were slowly disappearing behind its 'sister' island. I thought the outcome was rather interesting. C&C welcome.

Re: sci-fi island
Interesting almost to the point of disturbing. Is the effect mirror motion? Or perhaps that is the kind of dwelling the little green men who live out there like to erect and illuminate.

Re: sci-fi island
Thanks for the comments, everyone.
Mark, I don't know what they are either. I was really disappointed to see they had come out the way they did. I was hoping maybe you or someone else might tell me what they are. Could it be the result of shooting at f/6.3? I took several shots and they all look sci-fi, haha.
David, I didn't have to use any filters for this shot as it was already pretty dark. I had been working on my istanblue shot all day and just as I was ready to pack my gear and leave, I noticed the setting sun shinining on Yassi Asa near Buyuk Ada. I took a couple of steps towards that direction, quickly set up my tripod, tried a smaller aperture without success and so stopped down till the camera could see the lights in the distance. I focused on the lights and tried a 30-second exposure. This was the result.

Re: sci-fi island
By the way, David, for my other shots I'm using a Lee Big Stopper, but I also have a 10-stop B+W ND filter which is the first filter I got. Both of them are very good, IMO. The Big Stopper is easier to use and gives the images a bluish cast while the B+W has a warmer feel to it. Both colour problems can be fixed easily in post, though.
