Sharon, I am trying to figure this one out.
Bruce
All may not approve to surrealism/ abstraction to this extent..... i enjoyed it and the nicest part of it is the framing that accentuates the subject
Well done
Ha, now we are getting somewhere!
A really bad one. It is so bad that I like it.

Ah, leaning on the handrails as the ship leaves berth outward bound to sea, guessing when you are going to see land next and wondering when your head is ever going to stop feeling so rough from last nights run ashore.
Having spent almost an entire career at sea I can readily equate with the moodiness of this image Sharon.
Grahame
You might be disappointed to learn that whatever realism you built into it doesn't work for me simply because I don't see it even now that it has been explained. On the other hand, you might be thrilled to learn that it works for me very well as an abstract.
What realism I built into it?
When I said that Grahame had 'got it' I meant that he had found an interpretation for it that worked within his experience and that he enjoyed.
I get something totally different .....and you like it as an abstract, which is exactly what it is.
It's a bunch of shapes, some grain and a mood. Everything else comes from the viewer.
Ahhhhhhh. Now I understand your perspective.
Sharon, your style is marvelous. I enjoy your images immensely. Have you ever thought of an exhibit of large prints?
Yes Sharon is pure genius.
I don't get it but I can't stop looking, I guess that makes a good image yes??
Another cool image. I can see the "Ship to Shore" thing going on.
It is interesting that having read a title prior to viewing the image my mind found a nautical connection in what I see. (While I spent but 4 years at sea it made a huge impression on me.) I think it would be fascinating to read reactions to such an abstract image if it were posted again with a different title. I like this sort of thing where my brain gets to fill in the story.
