Rainforest in the clouds
Continuing with my Fiji interiors project where my aim is to take landscapes containing no blue skies with fluffy white clouds but to portray the beauty and dampness of the lush vegetation here's a couple from the latest batch.
I took an hour and a half drive in absolutely torrential rain keeping my fingers crossed that it may clear before I got to this location and my luck was in just after I arrived. I got 30 minutes with the tripod set up on the road as no traffic to worry about before the rain poured again.
This time I used my Grad ND but looking at the results am coming to the conclusion that it may not have been the best idea. Many of the shots had a limited tonal range and were very flat and in processing I have had to undertake noise removal in the skies, a problem not encountered before.

Comments and suggestions welcome as always

Re: Rainforest in the clouds
I like #1 part from the clouds...I like the clouds of #2 but the scenario is a little bit dark. Push--pull feeling I suppose...

Re: Rainforest in the clouds
I like #1 for its tri-colored distribution tree heads; the only thing i am not fascinated by is the shape of the cloud; leaving that i liked it much
Second image , a common place one, but good

Isabel,
Thanks for commenting. Skies are continually a challenge with this project in that what looks dramatic at the time often looks bland when processed.

Hi Nandakumar,
Thanks for commenting. I also like the different bands of lighting in No 1 and have undertaken another crop on this removing much of the sky, but found it then lacks the feeling of having low threatening cloud cover.
