Did you think I would post images of reindeer?

And they haven't been adopted yet? You should pass those photos around a school room.

We have just put these babies up for adoption and have had several applications. We need to be quite careful around Christmas time because often puppies are adopted as Christmas gifts. We want our adopters to think long term, not just Holiday Season...

Often adopters don't realize the work and problems in adopting a puppy. Sure it is worth it if you are willing to put in the training work but, we just want to be sure that the adopters are doing so with both their hearts and their heads...

The pups are stabilized in their eating now. We find that often the transition form mom's milk to solid food results a bout of soft stool until we can accurately guage the amount of food to feed them. Puppies will overeat if given the chance.

Or adopted by the parents who can't resist the pitiful puss on their children. With homes that have children; at least you have a better chance that someone in the home will take up the slack if the child loses interest; sometimes.

Richard - made the mistake of showing them to my wife - they are all cute but Blitzen now has a major fan !

We ensure that no family with toddlers adopts a dog from us and if the family does have older kids, we ensure that the adults in the household agree to be the primary caretakers.

Its O.K. (and quite good training) for kids to be expected to fill the dog's water bowls and some other easy tasks. However, it is unrealistic for parents to expect young kids to be the primary caregivers. The PARENTS MUST WANT the dog, not just the kids. Any kid anywhere will want a puppy but, if mom and dad do not care for that puppy - the child most likely will not. This is especially true after the newness of the puppy wears off...
