Need some cropping advice...
I'm working up what I think will be part of a Christmas present for my father and I need some suggestions.
First, some suggestions on cropping for any of the following picture. One of my weaknesses is cropping/framing, and I would love some other eyes to look at them and see what you might think. That can help me look at things in a different way and maybe open my eyes!
(Note, I'm going to go back and re-edit the photo as I do not like the PP I did..)

That scene is quite good as it is, but if you want to try alternatives.
Firstly, do you specifically want it at that size ratio; to fit a frame etc?
I think you could try a slight crop from the left side, up to the highest point of that distant peak. A crop from the right side as far as where you have a strong vertical line.
A very slight crop from the sea and probably a little more from the sky.
But I'm not saying you have to do all of those ideas, or any of them. These are merely suggestions.
Reducing the sky a little will make the cliffs appear taller and stronger.

Re: Need some cropping advice...
Hi Kim, I see a landscape and usually an aspect ratio of anywhere from 16x9 all the way to 2x1 work well with landscapes. I would play with wider aspect ratios by losing some of the sea and sky before I would see if making it narrower would improve its overall feel.

Re: Need some cropping advice...
I don't do my own printing, therefore I'm limit myself to standard size prints...they dictate my print cropping.
Based purely on economic reasons, I merely choose the size that most closely resembles what you can live with without obsessing over it. The added benefit is that you can then choose a standard frame size.

I'd rotate it slightly to straighten the line of the beach, then crop out some of the foreground water.
