Dogs with Perfect Mask Software
I didn't know whether I should place this in this category or in the editing category, so I decided to post it in this one.
I wanted to give a calendar to our volunteers as a thank-you but, as a result of a lot of necessary time spent with our rescue dogs and, admittedly some procrastination on my part, I did not have the images ready for a calendar to give at our Maltese Rescue California Christmas Party on Saturday, December 21st. I planned to shoot images like this for each month of the calendar but never got around to doing do it...
However, I recently purchased the On One Perfect Photo Suite and wanted to gain some experience with that software, especially the Perfect Mask Module. Although, you could do everything with Photoshop that you can do in Perfect Mask, it is a lot easier and quantum times quicker (for me) to use Perfect mask. It also does a nicer job that I can do without a lot of effort. I was able to do these quite quickly at night after everything quieted down in the house with the addition of some digital backgrounds...

I have a proof calendar which will be available today and will adjust my images according to how this calendar looks. At Staples (a local office supply store) they do the printing on premises and have a very quick turn around at a decent price.
I am sure that with more experience, I will be able to do a better job but, in the interest of expediency, these are the images that will be in my calendar.

Richard...we all have a tendency to obsess over every perceived error on our part, but, it's a calendar that will have an image displayed for a month then discarded.

Yep! And I decided that if I waited until the images were absolutely perfect, there would be no 2014 calendar. However, I plan on shooting actual shots of my poochies with real holiday decorations for the 2015 Calendar which our organization will probably sell to make money...
