Accidental Dog Portrait

This photo was never meant to be - I was adjusting the settings on my camera when my husband bumped my arm and I pressed the shutter. Our neighbours' dog was attentively watching what I was doing.
I was ready to delete whatever was on this capture, but it came out surprisingly well (I think).
I adjusted Brightness and used a low setting High Pass sharpening. Also cloned out some clutter on the left side.
(Too bad his ear is cut off....)
Keeper or Trash????

So right - he's still a puppy and just wants to play. No sitting still or posing for this guy.
I yelled at my husband for bumping me - and then had to apologize when I saw the picture on my computer.
OK - for once it was a lucky bump.

So incredibly nicely focused for the eye - perfect! To do so, at that depth of field, would be mighty bold but would work well. Most of my best images are accidents too, in a way, but this is amazing.

Guess the dog was in the right place at the right time.
No way in the world would I ever be able to duplicate this, no matter how hard I tried.
