When arriving by commercial airline at the Bora Bora airport, you walk off the plane onto the tarmac, across a one-room airport and onto a boat. They then take you to the main part of the island as part of the normal airport service. It's the best airport I've ever been to, so I completely appreciate your photo.
I saw a yacht that had it's own vehicle aboard. Now that's door to door service.
Nice image.
This is a clean image where objects all objects are distinct with identity; loved it
PS: If you refrain from taking a room will the boat service available to take you back ?
It's a really neat image. I'm just trying to figure out whether the fellow in the T-shirt is hand-signalling in a hostile manner.
Although the image below might receive more views if posted in it's own thread, it goes hand-in-hand with the image above so I've included it here.
This the Yacht Valet Entrance to the Renaissance Hotel as seen from within the Hotel Lobby. The Lobby desk is off to the left and slightly behind this position. I now wish I had gotten a post worthy image of the lobby desk with the Valet boat in front of it but the timing just wasn't right and I had to move on.
Compared to the first image, this one was tricky to capture. The extreme range of exposure levels, the movement of things like the valet boat and people coming and going, and multiple light sources and reflections throwing the color balance all over the place were working against getting a satisfactory result. I ended up needing to merge and balance 9 images to get this result so it's not going to be as sharp or accurate as I would have liked. Hopefully it can convey some of the ambiance that we experienced.
I guess that's what we call a 'learning experience'!
