    Double Mirror|rorriM Image

I never want to look into another mirror again! Not that I ever wanted to to begin with!

I have seen way too much of my happy smiling face shooting this mirrored glass!

I'm not sure whether one subject needs to gain weight or the other one needs to lose weight.

This is the kind of image that I really like because it makes the viewer think about what is going on. My guess is that very few people will really figure it out. I might be able to figure it out, but I doubt it. That's despite that I made an image awhile ago posted somewhere here at CiC that incorporates the diagonal line between two subjects.

The device of using the three coins is really terrific, so terrific that I wonder why one of the three coins is not the same size. That leads me to wonder if they are coins. Regardless of what they are and are not, the device is fabulous and surely one that I would never ever have thought of. Now that I have, I'll surely use it some day and don't think for a nanosecond that you'll ever get credit for it.

I really am unsure of how you made this image. The two shadows throw me off about figuring out how you did it. Consider that a supreme compliment. On the other hand, when I literally lose sleep over this, I hope you feel really, really awful about it.

If the glassblowers had not used the same top for both pieces, this image would not hold together nearly as well. So, let's give them a small amount of credit while we give you the rest of the credit.

My hat is off to you for this truly remarkable image.

EDIT: Great thread title too! My only quibble, considering the use of the diagonal line in the photo, is that you should have used a forward slash character instead of the pipe character.

    Hey thanks (I think) Mike!

Its always the guilt that makes me feel so awful for so long buddy!

I listed the props here on this test shot and they are very real and very rare! Got them when the cashier at McDonald's couldn't figure out how to make change for my $60 bill! Kids these days!!!!

The Glass guys get all the credit! I just pull the last remaining hair (singular) out trying to figure out how to shoot it!

They have taken glass art to a new level but they aren’t making it easy on me!

Just gorgeous, Terry, the glass and the image both. I hope these guys get you to shoot all their work and you share it all with us.

Thank you Janis and I’ll tell the glass makers you said so.

I would imagine I’ll be doing their work for them. They can’t find anyone else who will touch it!

I’ll put it here if I get anything good!

Everything about this image is perfectly exquisite... A creative composition and it's simply beautiful... the detail, the reflections, and the light. I also adore how the tabletop fades away... I think this is my favourite image of your glass shots.

Hi Terry. I think you're getting this down really well. With the three coins, I can tell the glass surface is mirrored, unlike a past posting. I still see strange edges in the mirrored sections of glass (especially on the left glass), which you previously explained were edges inside your light box. I like the diagonal edge at the bottom, but wondered if you could round off the vertical edges inside your box.

As usual, consider that I don't have a clue what I am saying, and certainly could not do anywhere close to the good work you have done.

    Hi Ken!

Your previous critique helped me decide to add a prop to be reflected. And thank you for that if I may. Just wish you hadn’t caused me to decide on rare vintage gold to do so! Probably could have broken my piggy bank and taken the one quarter in it and used that!

I had wondered if the black line reflections of the enclosure should pushed to gray. I had one last trick in my bag 'O to get it different in-camera, but I didn't go there!

The lighting comes from the opposite side of the areas you are speaking of. You can easily tell by the shadows thrown on the BG. So that side of the vessel should naturally show some light fall-off. Meaning the gray I just mentioned.

It is that gray naturally as lit, and I had (probably mistakenly) hoped the patterns would add some added interest/reflection in that fall-off area.

I am shooting from the hip Ken! I have never shot anything like this and never dreamed I would. There is very little of this type of glass art work out there and even fewer (good) published images of what there is. At least that I have found.

So I really appreciate your input sir and I don’t know why you would say that you don’t have a clue. Looks to me that you have a very good eye. Wish I could say the same.

    Thank you Ken.
