    Square Cropped Hibiscus

I was reading some of Donald's posts the other day and thought I'd make some square cropped images for him. I hope he'll forgive me for not having the skill to do them well in monochrome.

I never realized how intricately detailed these flowers can be.

I guess that is one of the benefits of photography. Because you look, you see. Because you see, you can both learn and appreciate things that you might not otherwise notice.

I like your diffuse lighting, Frank. The lack of strong shadows allows us to appreciate the details. Well done!

Me too on #3. The first one looks a bit soft on my monitor . . .

    Thanks for the observation, Mike.

One would think that bright sunlight complements flowers and it does, but for taking pictures of them, I prefer a cloudy day.

I appreciate the comments David, Zen and Nandakumar.

I too like the interesting detail in the third image. I don't often see the pistol and stamen on the same stalk and with the Hibicus it is large enough to capture most of the detail without having to resort to focus stacking.

The beauty of nature in simple things that are always around us but we fail to see it. I think these images capture that.
