Nature As Art... Black-necked Stilt
Every now and then a image presents itself to be worked up as art. I think this is one of those. I have been going back through my images and came across this capture of a Black-necked Stilt seeing it differently this time I re-worked it. What do you think? Could you vision it printed on canvas hanging on a wall? Thank you for viewing.

In this edit I lowered the exposure showing highlighting the trailing ripples.

This is the kind of image you might see hanging in a hotel lobby. Beautiful and thought provoking in its starkness and detail. I'm no artist but I wonder with an image like this if just a hint of ripple here and there would add or detract from the impact?

I think it's pretty cool looking, Joe. For hanging a large version on the wall, if it matched one's overall motif I could definitely see it making an interesting canvas.

Second one, hands down.
This is the kind of image I think of when photography becomes art.

A perfect work; nothing to add; nothing to subtract; a wall hanger for any wall

Hi Joe.
The processing in the 2nd image is wonderful. Tons of negative space and only a bird, his reflection and a wake to view. I do suggest cropping. First, I don't think you need all the negative space on the left. I would take a lot of the left side off. In that case, the bird would be walking out of the frame and you would break the "rules", but in a very good way.
I also suggest considering cropping some off the bottom to give some vertical unbalance.
As for printing on canvas, I don't have enough experience to say, but I like the very plain, non-textured water, so I wonder if the canvas texture would subtract from the overall artistic look.
